Stephen Colbert taped a “Late Show” interview with James Talarico, a candidate in the Democratic Senate primary in Texas, on Monday. But CBS lawyers intervened before the interview could air on TV.

CBS said that “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” was not prohibited from airing an interview with Texas Rep. James Talarico contrary to the late night host’s claims on his show Monday night.

“I think that Donald Trump is worried that we’re about to flip Texas,” Talarico replied, earning a massive cheer from the audience.
