More than a month after it was closed to traffic, Kentucky transportation officials have set a tentative date for demolition of the 4th Street Bridge linking Covington and Newport.

A controlled blast is set to demolish a local bridge in northern Kentucky last week, making way for a new one connecting two communities.

The tower off East Sharon Road has been abandoned for more than 10 years and has become a dilapidated eyesore.
