SEATTLE - The weather is improving just in time for the weekend, with drier and sunnier weather ahead for Western Washington.

It will be a chilly start Saturday with a few morning clouds, but skies will be dry this weekend with more sunshine.

Wet weather increases by daybreak Saturday with a brief rain-snow mix possible in the lowlands Saturday morning, mainly across the South Sound and southwestern interior.

The Seattle region will see a mix of clouds and sun Tuesday, with spotty rain and snow showers moving through the area.

Another round of cold showers is forecasted for Wednesday morning, bringing more rain/snow potential.

There is a chance for isolated showers to close out what's been a mostly dry week.

The National Weather Service issued wind advisories for the Pacific Coast and Cascade foothills through Sunday.
