📺 - Watch the amazing footage of London Fire Brigade Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team at United Kingdom Rescue Organisation - ‘Festival of Rescue’ on the Newcastle quayside. The challenge was for the team to breakthrough the rubble and wood to rescue a trapped casualty. Visit Spillers Wharf tomorrow (Sat 18) to witness more of the same. Also on the Newcastle and Gateshead quaysides you will be able to see the USAR, Trauma, Vehicle Extrication, Water and Rope Challenges between 8am and 5pm. #

The London Fire Brigade has released footage of its crews working in the aftermath of the Nepal earthquake. The brigade sent a team of five, along with other specially trained urban search and rescue firefighters from all over the UK. They used acoustic and seismic listening equipment to search for survivors of the earthquake, which claimed the lives of 8,000 people. The team has now arrived back home.
